For Youth

YouthLine is here every day of the year to help youth with their mental health and wellness. We offer support through our help, support, and crisis line; we welcome teens and young adults in Oregon to volunteer with us; and we’ve collected resources outside of YouthLine for youth mental wellness. Visit the pages below for help and to learn more about getting involved with YouthLine!

Get Help

No problem is too big or too small. Reach out to YouthLine now.

YouthLine operates a peer-to-peer help, support, and crisis line for youth ages 10-24. Teen volunteers and young adult interns help youth across the United States over phone, text, chat, and email.

Text or chat with YouthLine from 4pm-10pm Pacific Time every day of the year. Call us anytime.

YouthLine is confidential to a point: while we will never share conversations had on the lines, we are mandatory reporters. If a young person is experiencing or has experienced abuse, neglect, or assault, or if there are immediate safety concerns, YouthLine may contact other agencies to ensure the best support and safety for the young person in crisis.

YouthLine calls, texts, chats, and email responses are provided in English. Translation is available for phone calls through a live interpreter. We help find available resources in languages other than English when requested.

Volunteer

Teen volunteers and young adult interns are the first responders at YouthLine.

Youth who are 15 or older and live in Oregon near Portland, Bend, or Warm Springs can volunteer with YouthLine. We are always looking for youth who are passionate about helping their peers with their mental health to volunteer with the program.

In person internships are available at our Portland and Bend offices. If you are interested in learning more about interning with YouthLine, please email youthl@linesforlife.org.
